Get a registration form in any of these ways
— You can print one of online in English or Spanish
— Pick up a form at local libraries, DMVs or other government offices
— Go to the Board of Elections at 39 West Main Street in Rochester
— Call the Board of Elections and ask them to mail you a form. Their number is (585)753-1550
Fill out the form and return it by mail or in person. Be sure to complete it legibly!
If you have an account with the DMV, you can register online via their website.
After you submit your registation form, you should receive a mailing from the Board of Elections telling you where your voting place is. If you do not receive anything from them, your registration has probably not gone through and you should try again.
Who Can Register?
In order to register, you must
be a US citizen
be over 18 on election day (16 & 17 year-olds can pre-register, so that they will be registered when they turn 18).
not claim the right to vote elsewhere
have lived at your current address at least 30 days
not be in prison for a felony. Anyone who has been released from prison, whether they are on parole or not, ARE NOW ELIGIBLE TO VOTE!
not have been declared mentally incompetant by a court
Voter Registration Drives
The League is happy to assist with voter registration drives. If you have an event where people gather, we are happy to set up a table and provide knowledgeable volunteers as well as information flyers to assist people in registering to vote.
