MONROE COUNTY LEGISLATURE, OCTOBER 11, 2022 OBSERVED BY ELAINE SCHMIDT VIA VIDEOPUBLIC FORUM
Several young students thanked the Legislature for initiating Phase 1 of the Climate Action Plan and encouraged community composting. Several speakers spoke in support of the five-Black-majority-districts map. Several child protective workers thanked the County for a 7% raise and said more needed to be done.
RESOLUTIONS
A public hearing was set for November 15 to consider a waiver of the residency requirement for MCC jail deputies. The Legislature:
• Authorized $9,500,000 in bonds to finance the cost of replacing voting machines in Monroe County;

• Accepted a grant from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the District Attorney’s Office, the Office of the Sheriff, the Department of Public Safety and the Office of Probation and Community Corrections for the Gun Violence Elimination Partnership;
• Authorized payment of Health Care and Mental Hygiene Worker bonuses to Monroe County Employees.
